Check out this incredible “Hipster Animals” tumblr by Dyna Moe if you haven’t already.
She uses animals to explore hilariously specific hipster archetypes like “Raw Cheese Evangelist” and “Industrial Salvage Repurposer.”
Obviously the chief draw here is her brilliant observation, but I think the choice of animals as subject matter makes it more powerful for a couple reasons:
1) There’s an added level of humor that comes from trying to equate each species with a similar human.
2) The Platonic quality of animals allows these super specific caricatures to feel more universal, and more relatable.
Well worth a handful of minutes, and rumor has it an animated show is also underway…
